The board appears to have a BIOS version of 5.7. The first version of this BIOS that I have seen is version 5.3 - this is from an article on pcwatch.com which states the ECS K7S5A motherboard used the BIOS 5.3 version. This motherboard was manufactured between October 11, 1999 and March 31, 2000.
The BIOS is FLASH based, which means that it is stored on a flash ROM chip, also know as a Flash Memory Unit (FMU). The flash chip of this motherboard has a serial number (SN) of 0BFBF049, and is a 32Mb chip.
If the driver installation didn't work for you, firstly see the Amptron forums to find out if anyone else has had similar problems. If no one has had the same problem, you might need to create a ticket with us, and include information about your system and the drivers you are trying to install. We will then work on solving your problem.
After installing the driver, you may need to reboot your system to ensure that the new drivers are loaded. Check Device Manager again after you have rebooted your system, and you should see that the driver is now installed.
Now it's time to take out the COAST and install the slot to the motherboard. On the motherboard, there will be four set of four holes aligned vertically, and one set of six holes aligned horizontally. Notice that the COAST slot is the size of the hole on the motherboard, not the actual slots! You will need to carefully align the slot with the set of six holes on the motherboard.
To do this, you need to first make sure that this motherboard is not in use, and then take off the boot sticker on the top of the board. Once the sticker is removed, take the COAST slot cover off of the motherboard, and pull out the four metal tabs on the side of the slot cover. The tabs will hold the cover on to the slot. Carefully slide the cover off.
Once the slot is in place, you will need to put the cover back in place. Of course, you will need to put the boot sticker back on the top of the board. Once the cover is back in place, the motherboard will be able to use the COAST slot like it's supposed to. You can put any standard SRAM card into the slot, and it should work fine. 827ec27edc
