Ask HN: what is the benefit to starting my own startup? - jaredmazur

I've been working on a project for a while, and it's really starting to take shape. I feel like I've had all the ideas and execution down for a while now, and I'd like to start getting some feedback on it so I can determine if I need to continue to work on it or find a job. I am a solo developer, although I have a few other people helping. I've also been using the forums at 99designs, and I've had some really great ideas from the HN community so far. The only thing holding me back, is I don't think it would be a very good fit for me to be a CEO, I just think I'd be too busy to work on it full time. What do you guys think?

Just don't quit your day job. Personally, I find it almost impossible to think

about my own startup when I have a full-time job.

any good reasons to do it besides a love of coding.

If you are passionate about it, I'd argue you don't need any reason.

thought about it, but I guess I don't really need to. I guess that I just

wanted to ask if anyone had any advice on whether or not it's a good idea.
